The Literacy Center is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that has been empowering adults through education since 1977. The Literacy Center delivers high-quality instruction, training, and support for adults who are experiencing language, education, and employment barriers.
The Literacy Center is seeking a full time, Project Coordinator. The Project Coordinator will be responsible for the following:
- Strategic Partnerships
- Development & Organization Projects
- Events
- External Communications
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with and support strategic partners. Coordinate all logistics including partner meetings & communications, information sessions, student referrals, intake & assessments, data collection & reporting, and evaluation processes.
- Manage development projects and tasks. Track and report volunteer and donor contributions. Draft acknowledgement letters.
- Manage organization projects and tasks including building logistics, technology coordination, supplies & purchasing, mail & shipping, and student alumni association.
- Organize annual graduation, events, site visits, and building tours.
- Craft and disseminate external communications via newsletters, website, and social media.
- Represent The Literacy Center at local and regional events. Make formal presentations.
- Assist program coordinators with student intake and assessments.
- Complete professional development training and assignments.
- Other projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
- Experience coordinating projects, collaborating with community partners, organizing events, and developing external communications for an organization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, & PowerPoint, SharePoint, Google Workspace, Zoom, Donor Perfect, and database systems.
- Demonstrated effective and accurate data collection, record keeping, and reporting skills.
- Outstanding communication and customer service skills.
- Strong writing and editing skills. Experience crafting content for newsletters, website, and social media.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and with community partners and volunteers.
- Must have a successful track record of completing projects, meeting deadlines, and achieving goals and objectives.
- Must complete a criminal background check.
