Position Summary

The Family Engagement Coordinator provides leadership for The Link's family strengthening initiatives by coordinating parenting education, family engagement, school partnerships, mentoring programs, volunteer leadership, and wraparound support services. This individual builds collaborative relationships that connect families to resources, strengthen protective factors, and create pathways toward long-term stability.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead The Link's Family Foundations initiatives through family engagement, school partnerships, parenting education, mentoring, and volunteer leadership.
  • Develop programs that strengthen families and increase protective factors.
  • Build collaborative relationships that connect families to meaningful resources and long-term support

Family Foundations Programming

  • Coordinate family engagement initiatives that strengthen children and families.
  • Coordinate parenting education classes, workshops, mentoring initiatives, and other family-strengthening programs.
  • Evaluate existing programs and develop new opportunities based on community needs.

Volunteer Leadership & Program Coordination

  • Recruit, onboard, train, and support volunteers and staff serving in Family Foundations programs.
  • Coordinate volunteer and staff schedules and assignments.
  • Ensure volunteers and staff maintain required documentation, training, and compliance.
  • Provide coaching and quality assurance to ensure curricula are delivered with fidelity.
  • Support and encourage volunteers and staff through ongoing communication and relationship-building.
  • Recruit and develop volunteers to support family engagement initiatives, parenting education, mentoring, and support groups.

Community Partnerships

  • Build and maintain relationships with:
  • Cullman County and City Schools
  • Department of Human Resources (DHR)
  • School counselors
  • Community partners
  • Churches
  • Referral agencies
  • Serve as The Link's primary liaison for family engagement initiatives within partner schools, DHR, and Court System
  • Increase referrals through strategic community relationships.
  • Identify opportunities to expand Family Foundations into additional schools and community settings.

Family Support & Resource Navigation

  • Meet with families to assess needs and identify appropriate supports.
  • Connect families with internal programs and community resources.
  • Provide encouragement, follow-up, and ongoing engagement.
  • Coordinate warm handoffs to specialized staff when intensive services are needed.

Support Groups

  • Oversee Linking Arms family support groups and peer connection opportunities
  • Recruit and support volunteer facilitators
  • Evaluate participant feedback and develop new support opportunities

Program Administration

  • Assist with grant implementation, reporting, and compliance as assigned.
  • Track program outcomes that demonstrate family engagement and program effectiveness
  • Maintain inventories of curriculum, educational materials, and supplies.
  • Collaborate with other program staff to ensure seamless service delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, education, psychology, human services, nonprofit management, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience working with families, children, or community programs preferred.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to recruit, lead, and encourage volunteers.
  • Comfortable building relationships with schools, agencies, churches, and community partners.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and database/documentation systems.
  • Passion for strengthening families and serving the community.

Pay: $19.00 per hour
