About the Job:
The Sewing Technician is responsible for constructing, altering, and finishing garments to meet company quality standards and customer specifications. This role operates sewing equipment, follows prototypes and spec sheets, and ensures materials and finished products are accurate, functional, and ready for finishing.
Working closely with Production, Cutting, and Finishing teams, the Sewing Technician supports efficient workflow, sample creation, and on-time production while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship and safety. This position plays an important role in delivering high-quality garments and supporting continuous production flow.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Set up sewing machines and select appropriate thread and materials for each project.
- Review daily work assignments, priorities, and timelines with supervisor or team lead.
- Follow prototypes, patterns, and spec sheets to ensure accurate garment construction.
- Adjust machine settings based on fabric and material requirements.
- Affix labels and garment tags as instructed.
- Perform hemming, repairs, and late-stage garment alterations as needed.
- Inspect materials and finished products to ensure they meet customer requirements and company quality standards.
- Create prototypes, samples, and test pieces when required.
- Assist with kit assembly, finishing tasks, or other production support as needed.
- Collaborate with team members and cross-functional departments to communicate timelines, product specifications, and issues in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all safety protocols and stop work when necessary to address risks or concerns.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support production needs.
About You:
- Detail-oriented with strong craftsmanship and pride in producing high-quality work.
- Experienced in garment construction and comfortable working with a variety of fabrics and materials.

Education & Experience:
- At least two years of previous sewing experience required.
- Experience in garment construction, alterations, or apparel production preferred.
- Familiarity with industrial sewing machines and adjusting machine settings for various materials.
- Experience working from prototypes, patterns, or spec sheets preferred.
- Basic understanding of safety practices in a production environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and move around for prolonged periods.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
Additional Considerations:
- Wage Range: $16.00-$22.00 per hour dependent on experience.
- Full-time - To ensure customer needs are met, this position requires flexibility and may occasionally involve working more than 45 hours per week to accommodate business demands and other responsibilities.
- Regular Schedule: Monday - Friday 6:30am- 3:00pm
- Classification: Non-Exempt
- Reports to: Floor Supervisor
