About the Job:
The Cutting Specialist is responsible for preparing and cutting materials to support the production of high-quality garments. This role ensures fabrics are selected, inspected, and cut accurately according to specifications, prototypes, and production timelines.
Working closely with Production and Sewing teams, the Cutting Specialist plays a key role in maintaining efficiency, quality, and consistency in the early stages of the manufacturing process. This position requires attention to detail, strong communication, and a commitment to following established processes and safety standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate cutting machines, selecting appropriate fabrics and materials for each project.
- Review daily work assignments and timelines with supervisor or team lead to ensure priorities are understood.
- Follow prototypes, patterns, and spec sheets to ensure accurate cutting and alignment with garment construction requirements.
- Adjust machine settings based on fabric type and material to ensure precision and quality.
- Inspect fabrics for quality, defects, and accuracy prior to and during the cutting process.
- Affix labels and garment tags as instructed to support accurate tracking and production flow.
- Collaborate with team members and cross-functional departments to communicate timelines, specifications, and production needs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all safety guidelines and stop work when necessary to address potential risks or concerns.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support production needs.
About you:

Education and Experience:
- Two years of previous cutting experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.
- Experience working with fabrics, textiles, or garment construction is a plus.
- Familiarity with cutting machines and production processes preferred.
- Basic understanding of safety practices in a production environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and move around for prolonged periods.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
Position Details:
- Seasonal Position: August 2026-January 2027
- Wage Range: $16.00-$19.00 per hour depending on experience plus $3.00 shift differential.
- Monday–Friday, 4pm – 12:30 am - To ensure customer needs are met, this position may occasionally require working more than 45 hours per week to accommodate business demands and responsibilities.
- Classification: Non-Exempt
