About Our Company

We are seeking a dynamic Senior Sales Manager. A successful candidate will have a genuine passion for the hospitality industry and an entrepreneurial spirit.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to internal and external Sales inquiries or requests and provide assistance as needed
  • Redirect Sales related calls or distribute correspondence to the appropriate person of the team in absence of the Sales Coordinator
  • Act as a liaison with other departments or functions (Operations, Front Office, F&B, etc.)
  • Actively solicit new and existing accounts to meet/exceed revenue goals through telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, site inspections and written communications
  • Adjust group pricing and recommend group concessions as needed to secure group business in support of hotel budget targets
  • Assist in contract training and review in conjunction with the Director of Sales for other Sales Managers
  • Use company wide programs, sales developments, prospecting projects and reporting for group business development
  • Follow up on all business inquiries and leads to generate group room nights and associated food and beverage revenue to impact RevPar performance
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual revenue and direct sales goals including outside sales calls, prospecting calls, site inspections, and entertainment as outlined
  • Develop and maintain rapport with hotel community and key community contacts to ensure a visible presence in the industry
  • Perform customer site inspections to uncover needs and present solutions that will maximize booking opportunity and create strong customer relationships
  • Create VIP or Group Site Alert Forms identifying and communicating traveler’s needs and acting as liaison to ensure all operational and marketing aspects of their stay are met
  • Understand and utilize the sales tools the company provides and to follow and support all sales and marketing operating systems.
  • Ability to sell all hotel products, services and amenities
  • Participate in meetings with hotel staff and clients, including but not exclusive to: Morning Sales Briefing, Morning Operations Meeting, Resume Meeting, Pre-Convention Meetings, Revenue Calls, Pick Up Meeting, Daily Business Review, Prospect and Tentative Meetings, and Pre-Planning Site Visits
  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
  • Ensure that employees are at all times attentive, friendly, courteous and efficient in their interactions with guests, management and all other employees
  • Balance operational, administrative and colleague needs
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as required by the Director of Sales or management of the Hotel
  • Be familiar with all safety and emergency procedures including OSHA requirements
  • Attend relevant meetings
  • Assist Director of Sales with new hire onboarding/training as well as assist with project-based opportunities designed to drive team performance
  • Work in conjunction with and at times represent the Director of Sales in his or her absence
  • Availability to travel both nationally and internationally

Knowledge, Requirements And Skills

  • Four-year college degree preferred
  • Must have a minimum 5 or more years’ experience in hospitality sales at a Sales Manager level to be considered.
  • Market knowledge preferred
  • Strong experience in Group Market preferred
  • Proficient in use of Excel, Word, Delphi and access database tools.
  • Strong ability in using MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, in particular)
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle data with confidentiality
  • Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English Language
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask
  • Work well under pressure, requires being a team player

Compensation: $85,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
