Athletic Coach & Activities Coordinator (Part-Time)
Location: Clinton, Iowa
Type: Part-Time | Hourly (Based on Experience)
Schedule: September – May | Afternoon to Evening Hours
About the Role
Lighthouse Schools is seeking a dedicated and organized Athletic Coach & Activities Coordinator to oversee student athletics and extracurricular events for our all-boys boarding school (grades 8–12). This part-time position plays a key role in supporting student physical development, character building, and community engagement through sports and activity planning.
With access to an indoor turfed soccer facility, collegiate-level basketball/volleyball court, and indoor walking track, our coaches will never miss a day of practice due to weather—ensuring consistent development and training year-round.
Key Responsibilities

Coach practices and coordinate fitness sessions (basketball and soccer preferred)

Schedule and organize pracitce, games, activities, or intramural events

Supervise students during off-campus games and athletic events

Communicate and coordinate with residential life staff

Serve as a role model and mentor for student-athletes in line with the school’s values

Maintain compliance with all athletic safety regulations, training protocols, and Iowa Athletic standards and expectations
Required Qualifications

Valid Iowa Coaching Authorization or license

Current CPR and concussion training certification

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Experience coaching youth sports, especially basketball and soccer

Strong organizational and communication skills

Availability for flexible hours (2-4 hours/day, varying based on game/event schedule)
Preferred
