Regnum Christi/Legionaries of Christ is currently accepting applications from qualified individuals for the position of Major Gifts Development Officer (MGO) to work in the Houston and Dallas area.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Major Gifts and Planned Giving and working closely with priests of the Legionaries of Christ, Consecrate Women and Regnum Christi members in the Dallas and Houston area, the Development Associate, national fundraising and marketing team and other key support individuals and groups, the MGO plays a hands-on role in donor cultivation, fundraising events, outreach projects, and solicitation of support to achieve its development and evangelization goals in the service of the Catholic Church.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Secure gifts to accomplish assigned goals through the Identification, Cultivation, Solicitation and Stewardship of benefactors primarily through phone calls and local visits with high-capacity benefactors.
  • Secure new planned gifts using means appropriate to each benefactor’s preferences and circumstances.
  • Effectively cultivate prospective benefactors through personal engagement and education about the Legionaries of Christ/Consecrated Women of Regnum Christi/Regnum Christi Movement.
  • Build awareness, consensus and teamwork with Legionaries, Regnum Christi Consecrated Women and lay Regnum Christi members within the Houston and Dallas localities to achieve effective fundraising consistent with the evangelizing mission of the Regnum Christi and the Catholic Church.
  • Help execute fundraising campaigns and events throughout the year. 
  • Be present to Regnum Christi members and friends at events and retreats to foster personal relationships, appreciation for and understanding of the need for support.
  • Stay abreast and be well versed in Regnum Christi’s mission efforts in order to communicate our successes, needs, and ongoing evangelizing efforts to potential benefactors.
  • Accurately update and maintain database of donor information and activity.
  • Attend regular development team calls, meetings, training sessions, and travel for bi-annual national team meetings.
  • Meet or exceed all established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Accompany benefactors in their spiritual journey by sharing your faith and love for Christ and serving His Church.


Qualifications:

  • BA/BS, preferably in marketing, sales, or related field.
  • 10 years’ professional experience in fundraising, or sales or business marketing.
  • Solid understanding of basic sales/fundraising principles. (preferred)
  • Experience in charitable planned gifts. (preferred)
  • Superior communication skills - telephone, correspondence, listening, presentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to confidently interact with elevate giving with high-capacity benefactors individuals at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and present compelling cases for support incorporating stories of mission success.
  • Efficient while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Organized, systematic and able to prioritize, schedule and perform complex tasks on time and with minimal supervision.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality; demonstrate sound judgement and discretion.
  • Ability to liaise with other departments to achieve common goals.
  • Experience in MS Office (required), and CRM/database applications i.e., Salesforce. (preferred)
  • Must be able to work flexible hours as well as meet time requirements associated with day, evening, and weekend visits with benefactors. Twenty percent (20%) overnight travel.
  • A practicing Roman Catholic is a bona fide occupational requirement of this position
  • Familiarity with the mission of Regnum Christi/Legionaries of Christ/Consecrated Women is preferred.

  • The Legion of Christ, Inc also offers its team members a robust benefits package that includes:· Compensation: $110,000 to $125,000 DOE
  • Flexible work hours and ability to work from home with limited office time.
