Job Title: Machine Operator
Location: Doswell, VA 23047
Various Shifts available (see below)
Training Shift: Monday-Friday 8:00am – 4:00pm (2-4 wks)
Hourly Rate: $18.00/hr base with $1 shift differential for 3rd shift
Job Responsibilities of Machine Operator:
- The Machine Operator/ General Helper is an entry-level position and is expected to assist in machine operations.
- Work, act, think, and converse in terms of improving quality and eliminating waste in his/her process.
- Understand the compliance of safety, environmental and quality policies for forklift and clamp truck operations that you would be trained in.
- Stop any operation that is not producing product to customer expectations or if in violation of approved quality and safety standards.
- Responsible for ensuring that the day-to-day operation of the machine that is consistent with the policies and procedures which make up of Quality System.
- Coordinate inter-plant shipments, transfer raw materials, finished goods and packaging materials.
- Must be able to work efficiently and seamlessly with other divisions to drive improvements.
- Continuously improve the process as an individual and as a team member.
Education and Experience of Machine Operator:
- High school diploma or GED certificate preferred
- Good math skills and mechanical aptitude
Requirements for Machine Operator:
- Basic computer and math skills.
- Must have mechanical aptitude.
- Some forklift experience required.
- A demonstrated history of learning and applying new information and technology.
- Proficient in communicating in the English language (both verbal and written).
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Capable of lifting approximately 50 lbs.
- Capable of sitting / standing for long periods of time.
- Must be available for any shiftwork, including evening/overnight shifts.
Various shifts available:
- 4pm - 12am
- 7am - 3pm
- 8am - 4pm
- 11pm -7am
- 7pm-7am (Mon-Thurs, Mon - Wed alternating weeks)
