Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Student Trainee to join our dynamic team. This paid internship offers a hands-on opportunity to develop essential skills in leather repair for equestrian and other projects, retail, manufacturing, teaching, membership programs, online/in person orders, administration, advertising/marketing.
As a Student Trainee, you will gain practical experience working with various tools, machinery, and materials while supporting ongoing projects. This role is ideal for students interested inbuilding a career in a leather business and potentially owning one of our future franchises.
Duties
- Assist with fabrication tasks using hand tools, power tools, and leather equipment to create or modify components.
- Participate in assembly and leather construction projects, including sewing with sewing machines and hand tools.
- Help with heavy lifting and material handling (Full and 1/2 hides) within the retail shop, teaching and manufacturing area.
- Contribute to construction-related activities such as cutting, dying, sewing, skiving, splitting, sanding, burnishing, engraving, foiling, while under supervision.
- Maintain safety standards by adhering to proper tool usage, wearing protective gear, and following safety protocols during all activities.
- Support inventory management by organizing supplies, tracking materials, and assisting with warehouse logistics.
- Assist in quality control processes by inspecting products and parts for quality and accuracy.
- Collaborate with team members on various projects involving fabrication, machining, or assembly to meet project deadlines
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 15.0 per week
