Are you someone who enjoys working with children, has calming but fun energy to support children during their rest time? The Learning Tree is looking for a Nap Time Support Teacher to join our nurturing team! Please know, this position will always be the 2nd or 3rd teacher in the classroom there to support classroom and teacher needs during the class rest time.
Position Details:
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Pay Rate: $16 per hour
Location: The Learning Tree has locations in Livonia, Lyon Township, South Lyon and Howell.
This role is perfect for 17-year-old high school students! We understand schedules will change after summer—once school starts back in the fall, we’re happy to shift your work hours to afternoon support (3-5:30pm) to accommodate your school schedule. The Learning Tree provides top-notch training. You will be fully onboarded and trained on your job roles and responsibilities by a Learning Tree Leadership Employee.
What You’ll Do:
During this part of the day, you’ll support our classrooms by:
- Supporting family style meal lunch time. Did you know we have a delicious, organic menu, you'll get to taste our food with the children during their meal time.
- Providing gentle comfort during rest time (like rubbing backs or offering quiet reassurance)
- Covering teacher lunch breaks
- Leading or supervising quiet activities for children who are not sleeping
- Assisting with cleaning and classroom upkeep tasks
- Supporting a calm, safe, and loving environment
Important Note for Applicants Under 18:
Minors under the age of 18 are required to have a valid work permit prior to starting employment. The Learning Tree must have your work permit on file before your first day.
