Responsibilities
- Assist lead childcare providers in supervising and engaging children during daily activities, playtime, meals, and rest periods
- Support children’s emotional well-being by providing comfort, encouragement, and positive reinforcement
- Help implement age-appropriate educational activities that promote childhood development and learning
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to safety protocols, conducting regular room checks, and ensuring proper hygiene practices
- Support classroom management by helping organize materials, assist with transitions, and encourage positive behavior
- Assist with diapering, feeding, and basic infant care as needed for younger children
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to ensure a cohesive caregiving experience
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying or similar settings is preferred
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Certification in first aid and CPR is highly desirable; willingness to obtain certification if not already held
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special education needs is a plus
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to handle behavior management challenges positively
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and families
- Ability to work flexibly in a dynamic environment while maintaining patience and professionalism
