Assistant childcare provider

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Assistant Childcare Provider to join our vibrant early childhood education team. In this role, you will support the lead caregivers in creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children of various ages, including infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. Responsibilities

• Assist lead childcare providers in supervising and engaging children during daily activities, playtime, meals, and rest periods
• Support children’s emotional well-being by providing comfort, encouragement, and positive reinforcement
• Help implement age-appropriate educational activities that promote childhood development and learning
• Maintain a safe environment by adhering to safety protocols, conducting regular room checks, and ensuring proper hygiene practices
• Support classroom management by helping organize materials, assist with transitions, and encourage positive behavior
• Assist with diapering, feeding, and basic infant care as needed for younger children
• Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to ensure a cohesive caregiving experience

Qualifications

• Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying or similar settings is preferred
• Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
• Certification in first aid and CPR is highly desirable; willingness to obtain certification if not already held
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special education needs is a plus
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to handle behavior management challenges positively
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and families
• Ability to work flexibly in a dynamic environment while maintaining patience and professionalism

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
