Assistant Director at The Learning Nest Plantation - Plantation, FL | Full-Time

TLN Plantation is seeking a highly organized, proactive, and compassionate Assistant Director to join our leadership team.

We are a growing early childhood school serving children from 18 months through Kindergarten through both Montessori and non-Montessori programs. We are looking for someone who is proactive, adaptable, naturally curious, and excited to contribute meaningfully to a thriving school community.

This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who enjoys leadership, teamwork, and day-to-day school operations. The Assistant Director will work closely with the Director to support school operations, staff, students, and families while helping maintain a positive, organized, and welcoming environment throughout the school.

We are especially looking for someone who is tech-savvy, resourceful, adaptable, and eager to learn. We value individuals who enjoy solving problems, improving systems, asking thoughtful questions, and finding better ways to support children, families, and educators. A genuine love for children and a passion for early childhood education are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Director with daily school operations
  • Assist with supervision and support of approximately 20–25 staff members
  • Build strong relationships with families and provide exceptional customer service
  • Help maintain a positive school culture and professional work environment
  • Assist with enrollment, school tours, scheduling, and parent communication
  • Support classroom operations and step in wherever needed to ensure smooth daily functioning
  • Assist with licensing, compliance, recordkeeping, and administrative organization
  • Learn and utilize school technology systems and office platforms
  • Coordinate and assist with school events, programs, and activities
  • Help ensure smooth operations across both Montessori and non-Montessori programs
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, organization, and communication throughout the school

Qualifications

  • Bilingual English and Spanish required
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in education, childcare, school administration, or related leadership roles preferred
  • Teaching experience strongly preferred
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Warm, professional, and team-oriented personality
  • Strong technology skills and willingness to learn new platforms quickly
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel required
  • Experience with Procare preferred
  • Montessori knowledge or experience preferred but not required
  • DCF Director Credential preferred
  • CDA, Associate's Degree, or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Child Development, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
  • Demonstrated initiative, curiosity, and willingness to learn
  • Ability to think critically, solve problems, and adapt in a dynamic environment

Salary: $42,000–$45,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.

Pay: $42,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
