The Daycare Assistant supports the care, safety, and development of infants and toddlers while reporting to the center director. This role helps deliver nurturing, engaging experiences through play-based learning, arts and crafts, outdoor activities, and early literacy and numeracy activities.
Responsibilities
- Supervise infants and toddlers to promote safety and well-being.
- Support play-based learning, arts and crafts, outdoor activities, and early literacy and numeracy experiences.
- Assist with meals and diapering routines.
- Monitor nap periods and maintain a calm, secure environment.
- Conduct classroom safety checks and complete classroom cleanup.
- Support teaching and provide nurturing care.
- Communicate with parents and collaborate with the center director.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in childcare.
- Knowledge of child development and child safety.
- Skills in classroom management and activity planning.
- Understanding of positive behavior support.
- Strong communication, patience, and teamwork skills.
