What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adult ESL Teacher position at The Learning Institute of Texas?
The Learning Institute of Texas (LIT) is looking for a part-time English-Second Language (ESL) instructor for the 2024 Spring Semester. The Learning Institute of Texas is an adult ESL institution, located in the Alief area of Houston, very close to Hastings and Elsik High Schools. LIT is a CEA-accredited school.
This position is for in-person instruction. Please do not apply if you are searching for a remote/online position.
Required experience:
- Must hold a Bachelor's Degree with TESOL / CELTA Certification or equivalent
- Two years previous teaching experience
- Native-level proficiency of the English language
Preferred experience:
- Master's Degree in TESOL
This position is approximately twenty hours per week (sixteen hours in-class instruction; four hours prep).
Necessary availability is Monday through Thursday, 08:45AM to 01:30PM (until 02:00PM on Thursdays).
This position is for our 2024 Fall Semester, which begins Monday, August 12, 2024, and ends Thursday, December 12, 2024, with instructor in-service days on Thursday and Friday, January 04-05, 2024. The subsequent 2024 Summer Session will begin on Monday, May 28, 2024. Pay is $27-35 / hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
