Job Overview

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula that promote literacy, math, social-emotional skills, and overall child development.
• Create a safe, welcoming classroom environment that encourages curiosity, exploration, and active participation.
• Manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement techniques and effective behavior management strategies.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns.
• Incorporate special education strategies and early intervention techniques to support diverse learning needs.
• Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain accurate records of student progress and incidents.
• Plan engaging lessons that incorporate Montessori methods or other educational philosophies aligned with early childhood development standards.
• Maintain current certifications in first aid and CPR to ensure safety at all times.
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum quality and share best practices in preschool teaching.
• Support children’s social skills development through structured activities, play-based learning, and individualized attention.

Experience

• Prior experience working with children in a preschool or early childhood education setting is required.
• Demonstrated classroom management skills with the ability to foster a positive learning environment.
• Knowledge of childhood development principles, including toddler care, literacy education, and behavior management techniques.
• Experience implementing curriculum development tailored to preschool-aged children.
• Familiarity with special education practices, early intervention strategies, and standardized testing procedures is preferred.
• Strong communication skills for effective parent engagement and teamwork within educational settings.
• Certification in first aid and CPR is mandatory; additional credentials such as Montessori training or experience are advantageous.
• Proven ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning styles and developmental stages of young children.
