As the Infant Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a calm, loving, and well-organized environment where infants feel safe, secure, and supported as they grow and reach important milestones.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the daily operations of the infant classroom in a safe and nurturing environment
- Provide responsive care including feeding, diapering, naps, and individualized schedules
- Plan and engage infants in simple sensory, music, movement, and early language activities
- Support early social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development
- Communicate daily with families about routines, milestones, and progress
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom that meets all health and safety standards
- Supervise and support assistant teachers in the classroom
- Ensure full compliance with New Jersey childcare licensing requirements
- High school diploma or GED required (minimum)
- Prior experience working in an infant classroom or childcare setting required
- Knowledge of infant development and developmentally appropriate practices
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
- Dependable, patient, and comfortable leading a classroom
- Must meet all New Jersey childcare licensing requirements
