Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education (preferred)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in an early childhood leadership role (required)
- 2 years of leadership experience and/or experience opening a new center (preferred)
- 2 years of classroom teaching experience (preferred)
- In-depth knowledge of Washington State licensing (WAC) regulations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must meet WA licensing qualifications for center directors (required)

Key Responsibilities:
As the Assistant Director, you’ll work in close partnership with the Center Director to lead day-to-day operations and ensure excellence in all areas of the school — from compliance and staffing to family engagement and community building.
Operations & Compliance:
- Oversee daily center operations and step in during the Director’s absence
- Ensure full compliance with all licensing requirements and TLE standards
- Monitor safety, health, and cleanliness across the center
Leadership & Team Support:
- Supervise and support teaching and non-teaching staff
- Help recruit, hire, train, and retain a high-performing team
- Provide coaching and professional development opportunities
- Foster a culture rooted in respect, inclusion, and continuous improvement
Family & Community Engagement:
- Build strong relationships with families through regular, open communication
- Collaborate on school events, marketing efforts, and outreach activities
- Represent TLE positively within the community
Business & Enrollment:
- Help manage center budgets, enrollment goals, and staffing plans
- Support billing, accounts receivable/payable, and financial reporting
- Maintain accurate records and reports in accordance with TLE and state policies
