What are the responsibilities and job description for the LPN- Part-time position at The Learning Center?
- Monday-Thursday, 3:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. /every other weekend (Fri-Sun) 6:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m., 4:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m.
- Direct Nursing Care such as giving medications to residents, keep an accurate medication count as required, evaluate and treat residents, report any change in the condition of the resident, monitor weight loss or gain with weekly weights, monitor nutritional needs of residents, and monitor general resident health with consultation from the contracted RN and Physician.
- Compile required annual medical Staffing Summaries.
- Chart in the nurse’s notes when a resident leaves for a home visit or on leave. Also, assess the resident upon return from a home visit or leave and chart the resident’s condition.
- Write and process physician’s orders received verbally and assure that the signature approval is received from the physician for said order. Implement procedures for the following all physician’s orders.
- Provide information for annual physical examination of residents, reporting observations, status of resident, and progress or regression to the contracted RN and Physician. Insure routine physical exams are scheduled as well as follow up exams and referrals as necessary.
- Implement emergency medical treatment as deemed necessary.
- Communicate all relevant information concerning residents to relief staff at shift change.
- Maintain client’s programs pertaining to self-administration of medication and treatment.
- Organize documents for the signature and review of the Physician, Pharmacist, and contracted RN.
- Organize client medical charts and Maintain all required documentation including physician’s orders, treatments, communication with parent/guardian, outside appointments, height and weight, vital signs, immunizations, injuries, and illnesses.
- Follow center policy regarding communication with parents or other staff regarding an injury, illness, and or other health related issue regarding a resident.

Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- Arkansas LPN license (Required)
