What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bus/Van Assistant position at The Learning Center?
This is a split shift position, morning and afternoon, Mon-Fri, approximately 20-25 hours per week. Employee must be at least 21 years of age. The assistant will assist the Bus/Van Driver in the transport of adults, children and staff to TLC facilities. Will ride morning and/or afternoon route as per schedule. Will give, in absence, 24 hour notice to secure replacement. Will utilize proper first aid procedures when necessary. Will assist and/or load and unload passengers at center and home (responsibility includes fastening and unfastening seat belts, securing and removing from car seat, locking and unlocking wheelchairs, and assisting with opening and closing of doors). Will load and unload passengers’ adaptive seating equipment as needed. Will attend meetings and in-service training on request of Director of Services/Administrative Assistant. Will know emergency and evacuation procedures for buses.
