About Marie Philip School:

MPS enrolls nearly 150 deaf and hard of hearing students on our Framingham, MA campus in an ASL/English bilingual, bicultural educational model. 


POSITION SUMMARY:

The Learning Center for the Deaf Intern provides support across multiple departments, gaining hands-on experience in daily business operations, project execution, and administrative functions, fostering a comprehensive understanding of the TLC's goals and processes.


SUPERVISOR: PIP Coordinator


FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist with diverse projects and tasks, rotating through different functions as needed.


Conduct research, gather data, and help prepare reports, presentations, or meeting materials.


Perform administrative duties, such as scheduling, filing, organizing documents, and managing calendars.


Support team members with data entry, tracking, and maintaining internal systems.


Participate in team meetings, offering ideas and taking notes.


Shadow experienced professionals to learn best practices and organizational workflows.


Maintain confidentiality.


Demonstrates flexibility and responsiveness to the needs of the department, and organization.


Perform other tasks as assigned by the Department Supervisor and/or Program Leader.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited university/college program
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Self-motivated, energetic, and eager to learn new things
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • A minimum of conversational fluency in American Sign Language preferred, with willingness to learn required
  • ASL Classes may be required based on ASL fluency
