The Law Office of Kesha L. Amos, PLLC has an immediate full-time contract opportunity for a Paralegal with strong family law experience, a great attitude, and excellent administrative and communication skills.
This is a 6-month contract position with the possibility of extension or conversion to a permanent role based on performance and firm needs. The ideal candidate will be available to start on December 1, 2025.
We are looking for someone who is mature, dependable, and organized—someone who takes pride in supporting clients with empathy and professionalism while keeping up with the fast pace of our legal team. You must be a self-starter with strong legal writing and case management skills and ready to take initiative from day one.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
· Perform a broad range of administrative, document production, research, and client support/contact duties
· Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, discovery, subpoenas, affidavits, and correspondence
· E-file pleadings and motions according to local judicial procedures
· Schedule appointments, hearings, mediations, and trials
· Maintain case calendars, deadlines, and reminders
· Prepare discovery responses and organize document production
· Assist with trial preparation, including creating exhibit lists, trial binders, and witness files
· Communicate professionally with clients, court staff, and opposing counsel
· Provide proofreading and editing of legal documents for grammar and accuracy
· Maintain accurate records of billable time and case activity
· Answer phones and provide general support as needed
Required Skills:
· Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Paralegal in a Texas Family Law practice
· Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe, and legal software (MyCase, Westlaw Form Builder, TxDocs)
· Familiarity with e-filing procedures and court rules
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
· Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
Position Details
· Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (30-minute paid lunch); Friday 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
· Compensation: $55,000 – $65,000 annually (based on experience)
· Benefits: PTO and sick time accrual after 90 days; performance-based bonuses; paid lunch
· Location: In-person only – Pearland, Texas
· Start Date: December 1, 2025
· Contract Length: 6 months (with potential for extension or permanent placement)
