What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ecommerce Operations & Systems Manager position at The Lauren Ashtyn Collection?
About The Lauren Ashtyn Collection
The Lauren Ashtyn Collection is a hair topper, wig, and extension brand serving women navigating hair loss. We operate signature salons in Spartanburg and Charleston, a growing Shopify business, and a national pop-up salon tour that brings our stylists into cities across the country each year. Behind the scenes, our operation includes multi-location inventory, ecommerce fulfillment, salon operations, event logistics, customer support, and a growing team that relies on strong systems and processes to deliver an exceptional client experience.
The Opportunity
The Ecommerce Operations & Systems Manager serves as the internal owner of the technology and operational systems that support The Lauren Ashtyn Collection's ecommerce, salon, and touring pop-up operations. This role is responsible for optimizing Shopify, ClickUp, Gorgias, and related platforms, improving reporting and visibility, reducing manual work through automation, and helping teams adopt scalable, efficient processes.
Beyond systems ownership, this role also plays a strategic part in driving ecommerce growth — using analytics, user behavior data, and structured testing to continuously improve the online shopping experience and conversion performance. We're looking for someone who thinks as much about what the data is telling us as they do about keeping the platforms running.
This role is ideal for someone who is an inherent problem solver and go-getter — someone who enjoys figuring things out independently, builds structure where it doesn't yet exist, and can partner with leaders across the company to improve efficiency and support growth.
The role carries no direct reports, but success depends on strong people skills to earn buy-in and drive adoption across teams. Sound independent judgment is essential in order to keep operations moving during periods when the COO is out of office.
Ecommerce & Shopify
- Own Shopify store operations, including product data, inventory structure, pricing, integrations, and reporting
- Manage and improve multi-location inventory workflows across salons, corporate operations, and events
- Evaluate and optimize apps, integrations, and ecommerce tools
- Support website improvements, customer experience enhancements, and reporting visibility
Conversion Rate Optimization & Growth Analytics
- Analyze site and funnel performance — traffic, conversion rates, cart and checkout drop-off — to identify growth opportunities
- Design, run, and evaluate A/B tests and experiments across product pages, checkout, and other key conversion points
- Use user behavior data and testing insights to inform UX and site optimization priorities
- Build dashboards and reporting that give leadership clear visibility into funnel and conversion performance
- Bring a test-and-learn mindset to the online customer experience, continuously identifying what to try next
Systems & Automation
- Serve as administrator and owner of ClickUp, Gorgias, and other key business platforms
- Identify automation opportunities that reduce manual work and improve accuracy
- Build and maintain integrations and workflows across systems
- Lead technology implementations, upgrades, and process improvements
Process Improvement & Documentation
- Develop SOPs, system documentation, and training materials
- Establish data standards and operational best practices
- Identify inefficiencies and recommend scalable solutions
- Support training and adoption of new systems and workflows
Project Execution
- Manage operational and technology-related projects from planning through execution
- Track progress, priorities, risks, and dependencies across initiatives
- Partner with leadership to improve visibility, accountability, and operational effectiveness
What Success Looks Like
Success in this role is measured by the effectiveness of the systems supporting the business. The right person will help reduce manual work, increase visibility into key operational metrics, improve process consistency, drive conversion and growth through data and experimentation, and create scalable workflows that support continued growth across ecommerce, salon operations, and customer experience.
