Position Summary
The Certified Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counselor provides trauma‑informed, culturally responsive counseling services to individuals navigating substance use and recovery. This role directly supports community wellness by expanding access to ethical, evidence‑based, and person‑centered care across the San Francisco Peninsula.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual substance use counseling aligned with SUD certification and ethical standards
- Develop and implement person‑centered, culturally attuned treatment plans
- Utilize motivational interviewing, trauma‑informed care, and CBT‑informed interventions
- Provide crisis intervention and behavioral health support as needed
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team to ensure holistic, community‑focused services
- Uphold principles of cultural humility, dignity, and client self‑determination
Qualifications
- Certified Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counselor (REQUIRED)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in substance use counseling and crisis intervention
- Experience with CBT, trauma‑informed care, and PTSD‑related support
- Strong communication and rapport‑building skills
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds
- Spanish proficiency (Preferred)
- Commitment to social justice, equity, and community healing
