Description:
The Language Center is currently seeking experienced Medical Interpreters to join our network of professional linguists on a freelance basis. As an independent contractor, you will provide on-site interpretation services for medical appointments at client facilities such as hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare environments.
We are looking for individuals who are committed to professionalism, accuracy, and confidentiality, and who are passionate about helping limited-English-proficient (LEP) individuals receive quality healthcare services.

Responsibilities:
- Interpret spoken communication accurately and completely between healthcare professionals and LEP patients
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and industry standards
- Exhibit cultural sensitivity and professionalism in all interactions
- Arrive punctually at assigned appointments
- Maintain detailed records of interpreting assignments as needed
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of professional medical interpreting experience
- Fluency in English and at least one other language
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare procedures
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to various client locations
- Professional demeanor and excellent interpersonal skills
- Certification or training in medical interpreting (such as CMI, CHI, or equivalent) preferred
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Background screening/ vaccinations/ to fulfill clients requirements
