Payroll Accountant

Responsibilities:

• Prepares monthly and annual reconciliations and for assigned areas to ensure compliance with various statutory requirements, generally accepted accounting principles, and established policies and procedures in a complex accounting system.
• Creates reports for internal and external auditors.
• Performs reconciliations and detailed audits to ensure accurate processing of compensation.
• Maintains processes and procedures including preparing payroll entries, gross-ups, reconciling W-2s, W-2cs, tax payments, working with outside consulting firm and international employees.
• Performs validation of weekly and monthly payroll.
• Assists with software updates and testing.
• Manages unclaimed property.
• Prepares analysis and develops key metrics.
• Assists the field with questions and training.
• Prepares monthly payroll accruals.
• Troubleshoots system and payroll issues.
• Reviews payroll inbox and either takes action or assigns email to others.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Employment Conditions

• 3 years of experience in Accounting, finance or payroll

• Bachelor's degree
