Duties
- Provide direct patient care including assistance with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts.
- Monitor vital signs and observe patient conditions, documenting changes accurately within Electronic Health Record (EHR) or Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
- Support patients with specialized needs including dementia care, Alzheimer's care, behavioral health support, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Maintain infection control protocols through aseptic techniques and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Utilize medical terminology knowledge to accurately document patient information and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals.
Qualifications
- Valid CNA certification or equivalent credential; experience in healthcare settings preferred.
- Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations such as seniors in assisted living or nursing homes; long-term care experience highly valued.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems
- Knowledge of vital signs measurement, anatomy, physiology, and infection control practices including aseptic technique.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting patients using Hoyer lifts and assisting with mobility needs.
