The Lamb's Workshop is a well-loved Christian Preschool in Bedford, NH. We are looking for part time assistant teachers for our Monday, Wednesday, Friday morning classes. This position is great for parents as we follow the Bedford School Calendar for vacations and days off. Parents also receive a discounted tuition for their preschool aged children to attend.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High School Degree or GED
- Prior experience working with children preferred
- Background Check and fingerprinting - required
- CPR and First Aid (required and if needed paid for by the school)
- 9 hours of professional development within 90 days of start date
- As Lamb's is a Christian School, teachers must agree with and support the beliefs of the Evangelical Covenant Church.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and ensure the safety and well being of the children at all times within the inside and outside environments.
- Children are not to be left alone, unsupervised at any time.
- Be alert of the needs and/or problems of the children as individuals and as a group.
- Follow all school policies regarding playground safety and emergencies.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of daily classroom activities and learning environment under the direction of the lead Teacher.
- Keep classroom, storage rooms, and bathroom clean, neat, and orderly, including removing trash at the end of each session.
- May assume temporary responsibilities of teacher in the absence of the teacher.
- Be familiar with and follow all preschool policies.
- Attend regular staff planning and evaluation meetings.
Additional Requirements:
- Knowledge of early childhood education programs and techniques.
- Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to recognize and accurately interpret the verbal and non-verbal behavior of others.
- Ability to strike an effective balance between attending to detail and remaining focused on the big-picture.
- Ability to stand on feet for extended period of time.
- Ability to lift at least 40 lbs.
- Ability to frequently change position: stand, sit, kneel, and bend.
- Ability to continually assess environment for potential safety hazards; takes precautions; conscientiously and consistently follows safety procedures.
- Ability to cooperate – works well with others to achieve common goals.
- Ability to follow directions.
- Ability to write and speak in English, using appropriate grammar, style, and vocabulary
