Position Overview:

The Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring products meet quality, food safety, regulatory, and customer requirements throughout the production process. This role conducts inspections, testing, documentation, and audit activities to identify and prevent non-conforming products from entering the supply chain. The successful candidate will be highly detail-oriented, organized, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of food safety and quality.


Major Responsibilities

  • Perform quality checks throughout production, packaging, sanitation, and warehouse operations.
  • Monitor compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), metal detection procedures, labeling and coding requirements, hygiene standards, and workplace safety protocols.
  • Verify in-process and finished product weights meet specifications.
  • Accurately document quality assurance activities and inspection results.
  • Verify the proper functioning of testing equipment, including thermometers and scales.
  • Communicate quality concerns and inspection findings to Production and QA Management.
  • Prepare reports and summaries of quality results.
  • Implement hold procedures for suspect products and assist with evaluations and testing.
  • Collect and submit samples for laboratory analysis.
  • Assist with Quality and Food Safety training programs.
  • Support investigations related to customer and consumer complaints.
  • Assist during customer, regulatory, and third-party audits.
  • Participate in plant trials, new product launches, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform internal quality audits and maintain QA monitoring programs.
  • Maintain quality records and documentation.
  • Support supplier quality compliance programs.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable food safety regulations and standards.

  • Consistent compliance with GMP, food safety, customer, and regulatory requirements.
  • Effective identification, reporting, and resolution of quality and food safety issues.
  • Accuracy in product testing, sampling, and verification activities.
  • Successful execution of product hold and release procedures.
  • Maintenance of complete and audit-ready quality records and documentation.
  • Positive audit results from internal, customer, and third-party inspections.
  • Timely communication of quality concerns to production and management teams.
  • Support of continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product quality and food safety.
  • Strong collaboration with Production, Sanitation, Warehouse, and Food Safety teams.
  • Reduction of quality defects, customer complaints, and non-conforming products.
  • Adherence to company safety, quality, and food safety standards at all times.

Qualifications & Considerations for the Position

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in Food Safety or Quality Assurance.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with quality systems, product testing, and risk management practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Working Conditions

  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Work in refrigerated production environments ranging from 30°F to 40°F.
  • Regular use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and face masks.
  • Frequent standing, bending, reaching, and repetitive movements.
  • Fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm
  • Overtime and weekend work may be required.

Pay: $25.00 per hour
