What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housekeeping/Hospitality Specialist position at The Lakes of Paducah Senior Living?
- POSITION SUMMARY
To establish a standard of cleanliness and consistency in the way in which apartments and the common areas are cleaned. Assures completion of all housekeeping and laundry tasks. Assumes responsibility for general cleanliness for the building. Monitors needed janitorial and maintenance work. Work to maintain Arcadia as a pleasant and clean place to live and work.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Adheres to and conveys philosophy of supporting dignity, privacy, independence, choice, individuality, and a home like environment for Residents.
- Familiarizes self with cleaning schedules of residents and for common areas to assure completion of housekeeping tasks.
- Responsible for weekly housekeeping in resident apartments such as: dusting, vacuuming, mirrors, floors, toilets, sinks, windows, shower, bed linens and towels.
- A housekeeper will be assigned the common areas such as: break room, central supply, service entrance, dining rooms, gathering rooms, private dining room, library, exercise room, public restrooms, and any other assigned housework from the lead housekeeper or Maintenance Director.
- Housekeeping will ensure quick apartment readiness once an apartment becomes vacant.
- Housekeeping will ensure the building is always free of debris, clutter and looking its best.
- Demonstrates knowledge of and follows infection control procedures.
- Ability to work safely and to recognize potentially dangerous situations.
- Provides laundry services as directed.
- Communicates chemical, supply, and equipment needs to Lead Hospitality Specialist/Director of Maintenance
- Maintain and work within a monthly budget.
- Observes problems, concerns, issues observed with resident units, the building and the grounds and communicates them appropriately.
- Observes changes in resident status, needs, or preferences, and communicates them appropriately.
- Maintains required cleaning records; uses Maintenance Request log Apartment Cleaning Checklist, Common Areas Cleaning Checklist, etc. appropriately.
- Work with all other staff and Managers in a positive and professional manner.
- Ability to work safely and to recognize potentially dangerous situations.
- Demonstrates knowledge of and adheres to procedures for fire, life safety, disaster, security, work, safety, and other emergency procedures.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
· Regularly required to listen and speak with individuals and groups.
· Lifting and moving furniture and equipment with assistance.
· Continuous Standing, using hands, reaching, climbing, and balancing.
· Exposure to heat, steam, smoke, cold.
· Good vision is required.
· Reaching heights of approximately 6 feet and depth of 2 ½ -3 feet
· Must be able to work irregular hour under pressure and stress.
· Must have high level of mobility/flexibility in space provided.
· Be able to lift weight up to approximately 50 lbs.
