Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Lead Qualified Float Teacher to join our vibrant children's center. In this pivotal role, you will serve as a versatile team member, providing high-quality care and support across multiple classrooms and age groups. As a float teacher, you will be tasked to provide flexible support for each classroom's specific needs - acting as a substitute for absent teachers, covering lunch and bathroom breaks and ensuring proper student-teacher ratios. You will also help maintain a safe, clean environment, implement child-lead curriculum, and uphold the highest standards of classroom management and child welfare. Responsibilities
- Provide flexible classroom coverage by floating between different age groups and classrooms to support staffing needs
- Implement engaging curriculum plans aligned with The Lakes Children's Center's standards, including child-led and nature based learning.
- Support children’s social-emotional development through effective behavior management and positive reinforcement strategies.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration and discovery
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about children’s progress, milestones, and any concerns
- Assistant teachers and other staff to ensure consistency in teaching quality and classroom management practices
- Ensure center cleanliness by completing a variety of cleaning tasks throughout the day including vacuuming, mopping, washing dishes, cleaning bathrooms, etc.
Requirements
- Valid early childhood education certification or equivalent qualification demonstrating qualified status for lead teaching roles
- Proven experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings, including classroom management and lesson planning
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management techniques, and early intervention strategies
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues, children, and families
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing classroom needs while maintaining a positive attitude
