The Lakehouse Bakery is a small, locally-owned scratch bakery in Chelsea. We're hiring a bread baker.
What you'd be doing:
- Mixing, shaping, proofing, and baking sourdoughs, buns, and a rotating bread lineup
- Maintaining our sourdough starters and preferments
- Following recipes and holding the line on consistency — taste, texture, crust
- Bringing ideas — new breads, better processes. Your input matters here.
- Keeping the kitchen clean and food-safe
- Working with our team to hit daily production wholesale orders
What we're looking for:
- 1-3 years bread baking experience — sourdough required
- Attention to detail
- Pride in your work
- Comfortable with early starts (5-6 AM)
- Physical work — lifting 50 lbs, on your feet
- Reliable transportation to Chelsea
- Reliable. Shows up. Communicates. No exceptions.
- ServSafe a plus, not required
