Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide a friendly, professional first impression
- Manage restaurant reservations using reservation management systems and coordinate seating plans
- Answer phone calls promptly, professionally, and courteously, providing information about wait times or reservation details
- Maintain organized waitlists and communicate wait times accurately to guests
- Assist with guest inquiries, special requests, and accommodate seating preferences whenever possible
- Support the flow of service by coordinating with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timely seating
- Uphold food safety standards and restaurant policies while managing guest interactions
Skills
- Proven experience as a host or hostess in a restaurant setting with excellent customer service skills
- Knowledge of restaurant reservation management software and POS (Point of Sale) systems such as Aloha POS
- Strong communication skills, including phone etiquette and clear verbal interactions
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently with excellent organizational skills
- Basic math skills for managing reservations, waitlists, and billing procedures
- Familiarity with food safety practices and restaurant operations
- Experience in food service or hospitality environments is preferred to enhance guest relations and service quality
