Seasonal Assistant Gardener (May-October)

Job Summary: Gardener reasonability’s include monitoring the heath of all plants and green spaces, watering feeding plants trimming trees, shrubs and walkways/parking lots clear of debris and litter. Planting annuals/perennials and weeding gardens.

Responsibilities

• Work with Director Horticulture
• Keep all gardens free all weeds
• Pruning trees and Shrubs
• Transplanting and planting gardens
• Bulb planting in fall
• Raking, edging, mulching and dead heading gardens 
• Planting annuals 
• Provides quality customer service.
• Performs all miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• license
• Be able to lift 35 lbs.
• Must be at least 16 years old
• Basic knowledge of plants
• Ability to self-motivate with minimal supervision
• High school degree or GED

Physical Requirements
Most work tasks are performed outdoors. Position requires standing, walking and squatting digging, planting and mulching most of the working day. Requires repetitive motions, bending, climbing and lifting. Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
