Position: Painter
Department: Maintenance
Reports to: Maintenance Manager
Job Summary:
The Painter is responsible for maintaining the visual appearance and quality of the resort by performing painting, touch-ups, and other finishing tasks on both interior and exterior surfaces. As a member of the Maintenance Team, this individual will also assist with general maintenance tasks and the resort's preventative maintenance program.
Essential Functions:
- Perform professional painting and finishing tasks, including surface preparation, priming, color matching, and application of paint, stains, or sealants.
- Conduct routine inspections and touch-ups of walls, ceilings, trim, and other painted surfaces to maintain a high standard of appearance.
- Assist in executing the resort's preventative maintenance program, including replacing filters, inspecting belts, and checking equipment.
- Collaborate with the Maintenance Team to complete repair requests in guest rooms and back-of-house areas.
- Support outdoor property maintenance, including touch-ups for exterior surfaces and maintaining resort cleanliness.
- Perform basic drywall repair, patching, and sanding to ensure surfaces are ready for painting.
- Utilize and maintain painting tools, equipment, and materials safely and efficiently.
- Provide excellent customer service when interacting with guests or team members.
- Assist with additional maintenance tasks, including basic electrical, plumbing, and HVAC support as needed.
- Participate in event setup and breakdowns as assigned.
- Report any maintenance issues or concerns to the Chief Engineer promptly.
- Maintain flexibility with scheduling, including working weekends and holidays, and covering shifts as needed.
- Comfortably lift and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a painter, preferably in a hospitality or commercial setting.
- Knowledge of painting techniques, tools, and safety practices.
- Basic skills in other trades (e.g., plumbing, electrical, drywall repair) are a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
- Availability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, and climb ladders for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds comfortably.
