Position: In-Room Dining Server/ Minibar Attendant
Reports To: Restaurant Manager / Food & Beverage Director
Job Summary
The In-Room Dining Server is responsible for delivering a seamless and memorable Lake House Experience to guests within the privacy of their rooms. This role requires exceptional communication, service execution, and attention to detail. As an In-Room Dining Server, you will act as a communicator, decision-maker, and entertainer while proactively anticipating and exceeding guest expectations.
Essential Functions
- Set up food and beverage service areas, including linens, service ware, trays, and glassware, in accordance with established standards.
- Greet guests promptly and courteously, responding to requests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Take, place, and serve In-Room Dining orders following proper steps of service and brand standards.
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of food, beverage, and menu offerings, including ingredients and preparation methods.
- Run food efficiently and accurately while maintaining presentation and temperature standards.
- Handle cash and all other forms of payment accurately.
- Process sales transactions proficiently using Infogenesis.
- Properly check guest identification and demonstrate responsible alcohol service at all times.
- Follow up on tray removal from guest rooms in a timely and discreet manner.
- Perform opening, closing, and side duties including setting up and breaking down stations, refilling condiments, cleaning service areas, and preparing trays for upcoming service.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment at all times.
- Maintain knowledge of all buildings on property, room numbers, and hotel facilities to assist and direct guests effectively.
- Create “WOW” moments by collecting guest preferences and personal details to enhance the guest experience.
- Work flexible schedules as required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Attend all required training sessions and departmental meetings.
- Arrive to assigned work area on time, in full, clean, and pressed assigned uniform.
- Perform and complete all tasks as assigned by management.
- Be fully familiar with hotel operations and locations and answer guest questions regarding general facilities and services.
Minibar Responsibilities
- Restock in-room minibars according to established par levels and presentation standards.
- Inspect minibar items for quality, cleanliness, and expiration dates; rotate stock as necessary.
- Accurately record minibar consumption and ensure proper posting of charges.
- Monitor minibar inventory levels and report shortages, discrepancies, or maintenance issues to management.
- Assist with receiving, organizing, and managing food and beverage inventory related to minibar operations.
- Maintain proper storage, cleanliness, and organization of minibar stock and storage areas.
- Coordinate with Housekeeping and Food & Beverage teams to ensure minibar readiness and guest satisfaction.
- Follow all safety, sanitation, and alcohol compliance standards related to minibar service.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in a server or food and beverage service role.
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to multitask, work independently, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
