Position: Housekeeping Supervisor
Reports to: Housekeeping Manager
Job Summary: Assist the Housekeeping Manager to ensure all daily functions are completed.
- Providing a high standard of customer service. High level of professionalism and remain open-minded at all times. They must listen to customer complaints and suggestions and provide constructive feedback to the staff.
- Assigns workers their duties and inspects work for conformance to prescribed standards of cleanliness.
- Investigates complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment, and takes corrective action.
- Obtains list of rooms to be cleaned immediately and list of prospective check-outs or discharges to prepare work assignments.
- Coordinates work activities among departments.
- Conducts orientation training and in-service training to explain policies, work procedures, and to demonstrate use and maintenance of equipment.
- Inventories stock to ensure adequate supplies.
- Makes recommendations to improve service and ensure more efficient operation.
- Inspect rooms thoroughly.
- Performs cleaning duties in cases of emergency or staff shortage.
- Inventories stock to ensure adequate supplies.
- Advises manager, desk clerk, or admitting personnel of rooms ready for occupancy.
Physical Requirements:
- This is a working position, rather than an administrative position. Hands on tasks take up approximately 70% (subject to change to meet business needs.)
- Required to work weekends, nights, and holidays as necessary. Must be flexible with the work schedule based on the demands of the business levels.
- Stand, walk, and work for extended periods of time.
- Lift, carry, and push up to fifty pounds and push cart weighing up to 250 pounds.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 2-3 years in housekeeping, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Leadership: Strong ability to lead, train, and manage a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Customer Service: Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a focus on guest satisfaction.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work weekends, nights, and holidays; ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
- Attention to Detail: Keen eye for cleanliness and ability to ensure compliance with high standards.
