- June 19th and July 3rd are a Non-Attendance days
Rate: $42.00 per hour
Job Summary:
- Early Childhood Education Program
- Cross Categorical Program
- Multi-Needs Program
- Communication Development Program for students with Autism
- Emotional/Behavioral Disabilities Program
Specific:
1. Develop and implement the use of effective instructional strategies based on the needs identified in students\' IEPs.
2. Plan and carry out group and individual academic lessons.
3. Promote a collaborative relationship with all ESY colleagues.
4. Participate in and support activities related to ESY curricular themes.
5. Keep ongoing anecdotal records including both IEP progress and behavioral incidence and consequences for use in writing an ESY progress report.
6. Notify students and families of schedule changes, holidays, early dismissals, etc.
7. Attend building staff meetings and LADSE in-services applicable to the assignment.
8. Make proactive calls to parents, LADSE, and district staff concerning behavior, grades, school conferences, etc.
9. Supervise classroom assistant.
10. Establish working relationships with and provide feedback to administrators, parents, and community services.
Qualifications:
- All programs require a current Professional Educator License (PEL) with Special Education Endorsement (LBS1), but will also accept a PEL without an endorsement if you have experience with disabilities. ECE teachers are also required to have Special Education Early Childhood Approval. SUB license hiring is only after positions are filled with those with a PEL (PEL is given 1st preference).
