Now Hiring - Laborers Cement Mason Instructor
The Laborers Training School is seeking a full-time Instructor with cement mason experience to join our team. The responsibilities of an instructor include classroom instruction and cement mason hands-on instruction for students, as well as the course outline and syllabus. Instructors will assess students to ensure comprehension of course material through evaluations and exit exams. This will require travel to our various training sites and possible training on Saturdays and/or evenings. Instructors always reflect a positive and professional attitude.
Qualifications
What to Know:
Minimum of 10 years of cement mason work experience and construction field experience. A minimum of 3 years of supervisory/management experience is preferred. The resume should reflect any flat work, curb and gutter, decorative concrete work, finishing skills, machine operation/power screed, and ability to operate a walk-behind saw.
CA Teaching Commission must approve a Certificate of Clearance (COC) before hiring.
Pass the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) test before hiring.
The candidate should have general knowledge and experience of the position's industry standards.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical agility test designed to simulate job tasks which are predictive of the ability to perform the essential physical tasks of the job.
Should be detail-oriented.
Physical Requirements: Required to stand, walk, reach, lift, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; able to lift 90-100 pounds of weight for demonstrations.
