What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preschool Teacher position at The Lab School?
The Lab School is an independent preschool dedicated to nurturing young children. We are currently accepted resumes for a part time position teaching in our 3's classroom 8:30-12:15.
We have been serving three-to-six-year olds and their families in Kirkwood, Webster Groves, Glendale, Des Peres and beyond since 1964. The Lab School follows the constructivist philosophy of learning, and Project Construct Curriculum.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
- Early Childhood Education teaching experience
- Strong knowledge of and commitment to the constructivist educational approaches
Preferred Qualifications:
- Early Childhood Certification
-Masters Degree
Job Description:
-You must have a passion for working with preschool children.
-Organized with lesson and unit planning.
-Must be willing to collaborate and team-teach daily with your partner.
-Must be a team player with a willingness to grow and learn professionally.
-Need to have the willingness to teach the Constructivist Philosophy and Project Construct curriculum.
-Excellent communication skills with children, parents, and colleagues.
-Effectively collaborate with co-team teacher and colleagues.
- Communicate with parents via newsletters, email, phone calls, and conferences.
- Must be a team player with a willingness to grow and learn professionally.
- Abide by the state licensing requirements and school policies and procedures.
- Attend meetings and perform duties as assigned by the director.
