What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tool Room Technician position at The KYO Group?
Under the supervision of the Tool Room Supervisor, the Tool Room Technician will perform daily activities including repairs, cleaning routines, press servicing, and tracking work orders in the ERP system implemented in the Tool Room.
- Track and manage work orders in the ERP system.
- Monitor and track red zone activities.
- Utilize hand tools effectively and safely.
- Provide support to the process team as needed.
- Perform repairs on tools to ensure operational efficiency.
- Clean tools thoroughly before sending them to the machine.
- Execute preventive maintenance routines and maintain accurate documentation.
- Operate tool shop equipment proficiently.
- Maintain 5S standards (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) in the tool room and tool shop.
- Organize and store tools properly in racks.
Education
- Preferably a technical degree or certification in related areas (e.g., Engineering, Machinist, Tool Maker).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Tool Room Technician or Tool Maker.
- Experience working with plastic injection molds.
- Expertise in multicavity tools and hot runner systems.
- Proficiency in operating CNC Lathe, Grinding Machine, Milling Machine, Laser Welder, and Roll-O-Matic.
- Familiarity with Mold Flow analysis, SolidWorks, and MasterCAM.
- Knowledge of tip tools.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
