The Krusteaz Company is looking for Variable Shift Packaging Operators to join our Manhattan team! Packaging Operators ensure the highest level of food quality by operating equipment, monitoring production lines, and supporting processes from production to final shipment. Flexibility is essential for required overtime and to work first shift hours based on production needs. The position hours are mainly 2nd shift (Monday-Friday 3:00PM-11:30PM) but rotate to 1st shift hours (Monday-Friday 6:30AM-3:00PM) about 25% of the time, based on production needs. Applicants must be open to this rotating variable shift.

Essential Functions: Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time.
- Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot packaging equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance and follow production/quality processes.
- Hand sorting, case packing, pallet stacking, and supply replenishment.
- Inspect materials, ingredients, and finished products.
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on packaging equipment.
- Execute daily and monthly cleaning tasks per regulations.
- Maintain compliance with process quality, food safety, and general safety programs.
- Learn new methods and assist in training as needed.
- Communicate effectively in English with team members and supervisors through various channels, including radio, email and in-person interactions.
- Read and interpret safety and operational instructions.
- Work collaboratively to meet production goals.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work environments.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and equipment operation.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous food processing experience is a plus.
- Ability to work first or second shift and overtime as needed.
- Must pass background check and drug screening, per state and federal guidelines.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, often for the entire duration of the shift.
- Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching to clean various equipment and facility areas.
- Must have good manual dexterity to handle and operate cleaning equipment and tools.
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders as needed to reach high areas and equipment.
- Must be able to push and pull heavy cleaning equipment and carts.

Wage and Hours Information:

- $20.77 per hour
- $1.25 per hour shift differential for 2nd shift
- Variable 2nd shift: Monday - Friday, 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM, with possible overtime: This position rotates to 1st shift hours (6:30AM-3:00PM) about 25% of the time, based on production needs. Applicants must be flexible to rotate shifts when needed.
- Up to 7% quarterly bonus incentive pay
