Quality Control Associate

Description

This position is responsible for establishing, implementing and maintaining the QC system, including: 

· Performing routine quality control functions which require application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria.

· Reporting and correlating data, recognizing discrepancies in results and following operations through a series of related, detailed steps or processes.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

· Audit incoming finished goods and compare to set quality data.

· Investigate known or reported quality issues and report discrepancies to Quality Manager.

· Assist packaging department and work centers in Quality areas.

· Conduct product inspections and testing.

· Use packing lists and/or BOLs to receive vendor deliveries into WMS against POs creating inventory tags.

· Educate team members in Quality standards.

· Create and update product labeling.

· Complete or organize re-work or returns of defective products.

· Recommend, write, or modify sampling and inspection procedures.

· Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

· High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and/or at least 3 years’ applicable quality experience (preferably in a warehouse or manufacturing environment).

· Strong written and verbal communication skills.

· Ability to work independently with limited supervision.

· Ability to analyze and solve problems and to research and seek out information when discrepancies occur.

· Experience in using inventory systems and Microsoft applications.

· Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication) required.

· Must be able to become forklift certified.

· Detail-oriented and efficient.

Work Conditions

· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Team lift up to 100 lbs.

· Ability to see items near and in the distance; have peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

· May require standing for up to 10 hours.

· Employee must use hands, fingers, handle, feel, reach with hands and arms sometime above head, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch.

· Ability to bend at the waist several times per day.

Compensation

• From $20.00 per hour
