Job Summary
As a Pharmacist in Charge, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of pharmaceutical care within our healthcare facility. You will lead a dynamic team, managing pharmacy operations while providing exceptional patient service. Your expertise will be crucial in medication management, and patient assessment. (The owner takes care of all the pharmacy DEA/Board of Pharmacy paperwork, etc.)
What you’ll do
- Oversee daily pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance with all regulations and standards, including HIPAA guidelines.
- Lead and mentor pharmacy staff, fostering a collaborative environment focused on patient care and professional growth.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to develop tailored medication plans and provide critical care support.
- Manage inventory effectively, ensuring the availability of medications while minimizing waste.
- Utilize pharmacy software to maintain accurate patient records and streamline workflows.
- Stay current with advancements in pharmacology, medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology to enhance clinical decision-making.
Basic qualifications
- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution.
- Active pharmacist license in good standing with Louisiana Board of Pharmacy
Preferred qualifications
- Previous experience working with pharmacy technicians preferred but not required
- Previous experience working in an independent, family-owned pharmacy preferred but not required
- Previous experience working with "Computer RX" system a plus but not required (very user-friendly, you'll learn quickly)
