Staff Accountant

Location: Williamsburg, VA 23185

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our finance team in Williamsburg, VA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. This role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in accounting software, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Prepare financial statements and reports as needed.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Assist with audit preparation and liaise with external auditors.
• Analyze financial data and identify discrepancies or issues.
• Collaborate with other departments to support financial operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2 years of accounting experience preferred.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
• Requires daily attendance in our Williamsburg office
