This position requires the ability to perform these essential duties:
- Payroll practices and procedures: knowledge of Federal, State, and local employment regulations and tax processing
- Efficient data input skills maintaining critical accuracy
- Divisional/job financial reporting, payroll liabilities and accruals
- Perform necessary paperwork for employee setup, garnishments, and taxes, and research and resolve discrepancies, missing information and employee inquiries
- Knowledge of the payroll cycle and the impact on the general ledger
- Multi-state payroll experience with strong analytical background
- Knowledge of time and material and contract practices
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
- Understanding the monthly and quarterly payroll filings
- Excellent customer and employee communication
- Ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality
