Description
The Kearney Companies is a Site & Utilities Contractor based in Riverview, FL. Locally owned and operated, we have been in business for over 65 years; we offer competitive pay and excellent benefits. SUMMARY:
· Coordinates and administers the Site Health and Safety Program for multiple projects.
· Investigates unsafe conditions and incidents, performs safety, security and environmental inspections, and coordinates the corrective actions towards resolution.
· Ensure job sites comply with Federal, State, and Local Safety Standards.
· Recognize potential hazards and risks by implementing daily, weekly, monthly walkthroughs/project inspections.
· Report hazards and regulatory concerns to Safety Director.
· Ensure that all employees, subcontractors/vendors, and visitors comply with applicable H&S policies & procedures.
· Track and investigate incident/injury reports, near misses. Conduct root cause analysis investigations and develop corrective actions for all incidents.
· Develop and review site-specific safety related written SOPs and Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
· Ensure H&S files (documentation) are maintained to include training records, equipment inspection logs, permits and procedure certifications.
· Be accessible and visible to the employee population by monitoring, evaluating, and addressing employee safety concerns and issues.
· Ensure compliance and monitor requirements with the Construction Safety Standard (29CFR.1926)
· Coordinate site specific emergency planning programs. Develop and review site emergency programs (fire, hurricane, chemical spills, etc.).
Requirements
· Associate’s degree or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in occupational or environmental health strongly preferred. Experience in developing and coordinating safety programs.
· Working knowledge of OSHA (Occupational Safety and Hazards Administration) regulations and requirements. OSHA-510 Occupational Safety & Health for the Construction Standard.
· OSHA Certification is a plus.
· Working knowledge of State and Federal laws, local ordinances, and other rules and regulations associated with facility and employee safety.
· Competent to implement site specific safety procedures, i.e., Hazard Communication, Excavation & Electrical Safety, Emergency Management plan, etc.
· Certified or be able to become First-aid and CPR Certified.
· Must demonstrate the ability to oversee multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
· Requires competency with software applications including Word, Excel and Power Point with ability to download, manipulate and report data.
· Must demonstrate effective communication skills (verbal, presentation, and listening) to interact with all levels of personnel.
· The ability to prepare accurate, effective, complete, and easily understood written communications and reports.
· Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities.
· Must be able to respond to emergencies at job sites during off hours and weekends (incident investigations).
· Must have and maintain and valid driver’s license and qualify for the Company driver program.
· Experience conducting on-site drug screens.
· Bilingual is preferred.
