Job Title: Mainframe Zos System Programmer

Location: Plano, TX

Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Zos System Programmer to support and manage a complex enterprise Mainframe environment. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in z/OS, LPAR/MIPS management, mainframe migrations, capacity planning, and disaster recovery, along with experience working with vendor partners and managing SLAs.

Must-Have Technical & Functional Skills

• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience supporting a complex Mainframe environment
• Proven experience with Mainframe migrations, including LPAR and MIPS management
• Expertise in Mainframe backup and restore operations, including tape-based recovery
• Experience in Mainframe data center migration, architecture, and design
• Hands-on experience installing, configuring, and supporting Mainframe LPARs and MIPS
• Strong understanding of Mainframe restore configurations and recovery procedures
• Experience in capacity planning and performance management
• Ability to perform remote administration of MIPS and LPARs
• Experience working with vendor partners to manage and meet agreed-upon SLAs
• Ability to improve operational processes, reporting, and procedures in collaboration with vendors
  
  

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide incident management and service request support for Mainframe technologies, including z/OS
• Support Mainframe upgrade projects and infrastructure enhancements
• Monitor and manage system performance, capacity utilization, and availability
• Execute and support backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes
• Manage LPAR/MIPS configurations, ensuring optimal performance and cost efficiency
• Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure SLA compliance
• Participate in data center and Mainframe migration initiatives
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, documentation, and reporting
• Ensure adherence to enterprise standards, security policies, and best practices
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in large-scale enterprise Mainframe environments
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-resolution skills
• Excellent communication skills for working with cross-functional teams and vendors
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
