Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Supervise, train, mentor, and motivate a team of maintenance technicians.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and identify development opportunities for team members.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment focused on safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
- Manage shift schedules, work assignments, and on-call rotations to ensure adequate coverage.
- Maintenance Operations Management:
- Plan, schedule, and oversee all maintenance activities, including preventive maintenance (PM), predictive maintenance (PdM), corrective maintenance, and emergency repairs.
- Prioritize and assign work orders, ensuring timely completion and high-quality workmanship.
- Utilize and optimize a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for work order management, asset tracking, and historical data analysis.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment, machinery, and facilities to identify potential issues and determine necessary maintenance.
- Implement and continuously improve maintenance procedures and best practices to minimize downtime and extend asset lifespan.
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Coordinate with production, engineering, and other departments to minimize disruption to manufacturing operations during maintenance activities.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure strict adherence to all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and other relevant industry standards.
- Promote a strong safety culture within the maintenance team, including proper use of PPE and safe work practices.
- Conduct regular safety audits and incident investigations, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, safety inspections, and compliance documentation.
- Inventory & Budget Management:
- Monitor and manage spare parts inventory levels, coordinating with procurement to ensure critical parts are available.
- Contribute to the development of the maintenance department budget and manage expenditures effectively.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements in maintenance operations.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Participate in root cause analysis for equipment failures and implement long-term solutions.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability, maintenance processes, and overall operational efficiency.
- Stay informed about new technologies, industry trends, and best practices in industrial maintenance.
- Participate in capital projects, upgrades, and installations as required.
- Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g., Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering) preferred.
- Vocational training or certifications in relevant trades (e.g., HVAC, electrical, hydraulics, PLCs) highly desirable.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing complex manufacturing equipment.
- Familiarity with preventive and predictive maintenance techniques (e.g., vibration analysis, thermal imaging).
- Experience with CMMS software (e.g., SAP PM, Maximo, MaintainX, UpKeep).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
