Job Summary
The HR Specialist is responsible for managing specific human resources functions, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, and HR policy implementation. This role serves as a subject-matter expert for assigned HR areas and supports the HR team in creating a positive, productive workplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end recruitment processes, including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and onboarding
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and voluntary benefits
- Support employee relations initiatives, addressing questions, concerns, and conflicts professionally and confidentially
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, as well as company policies
- Maintain and update HR records, personnel files, and HRIS data
- Assist in performance management processes, including evaluations, goal setting, and development plans
- Coordinate training and development programs
- Provide guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practices
- Support HR projects, reporting, and initiatives to improve processes and employee engagement
- Manage employee time and attendance
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- 3 years of HR experience, preferably in generalist or specialist roles
- Strong knowledge of labor laws, HR best practices, and employee relations
- Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
- HR certifications (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR)
- Experience with payroll and benefits administration
- Training and development experience
- Strong interpersonal skills and conflict resolution abilities
