This role is responsible for managing recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training, and safety programs to support a productive and positive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruitment & Staffing:
- Develop and implement strategies to attract and retain skilled employees.
- Manage the full recruitment cycle, including job postings, interviews, and onboarding.
- Employee Relations:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee concerns and conflict resolution.
- Foster a positive workplace culture and maintain high employee engagement.
- Compliance & Policy Management:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Maintain and update HR policies and procedures in alignment with company standards.
- Performance Management:
- Oversee performance appraisal processes and provide guidance to supervisors.
- Support managers in addressing performance issues and implementing improvement plans.
- Training & Development:
- Identify training needs and coordinate programs to enhance workforce skills.
- Promote leadership development and succession planning initiatives.
- Safety & Health:
- Collaborate with safety teams to ensure compliance with OSHA and workplace safety standards.
- Support wellness programs and initiatives to improve employee well-being.
- HR Metrics & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate HR records and prepare reports on key metrics such as turnover, absenteeism, and workforce demographics.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of HR experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role within manufacturing or industrial settings.
- Strong knowledge of labor laws, OSHA regulations, and HR best practices.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with union environments and collective bargaining agreements.
- Certification (PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP) is a plus.
